Welcome to Burgundy Wine Week 2012.

We are bringing some of the top wineries in Burgundy to New York City to celebrate Burgundy Wine Week 2012 for a week of festivities from Wednesday May 2nd through Wednesday May 9th. The purpose of the upscale event is to introduce New Yorkers to some of the best Pinot Noir in the world, and Chardonnay from one of the most prestigious white wine producing areas. Burgundy is known as the most terroir-conscious wine region of France. Tastings will be held at dozens of metropolitan area wine stores, restaurants and other venues. 2012 PROGRAM:

WEDNESDAY MAY 2 Opening Night Tasting @ Burgundy Wine Company

The week will kick off on Wednesday May 2nd with a tasting at Burgundy Wine Company, where owner Geraldine Tashjian hand selects her wines for quality, typicity and taste. The owners of many prestigious Burgundy wineries will be sampling more than 35 wines from estates including Domaine Sylvain, Loichet Domaine Des Remparts, Domaine Fourrey, Domaine des Trois Tilleuls, Seigneurie De Posanges, Domaine Naudin, Varrault Maison and Veuve Amballe. The French Wine Society, an organization dedicated to the promotion of French wine through education and certification, will offer all attendees the opportunity to win a scholarship for one of its Master Classes.

THURSDAY MAY 3 Toast of the Town Tasting Gala @ Hammerstein Ballroom

Burgundy Wine Week 2012 will have a table at this annual wine, spirits and food gala where they will feature the wines of Gabriella Wines, a prominent importer and distributor of Burgundy. Guests at Toast of the Town will be able to taste more than 500 select wines from around the globe, and savor gourmet dishes from 35 of the top restaurants in the city. MONDAY MAY 7 Beaujolais Lunch @ La Bonne Soupe Restaurant

On Monday, May 7 the public is invited to enjoy a special lunch at La Bonne Soupe, a New York institution since 1973, to taste the incomparable Gamay grape as it explodes in the wine of the 12 villages of Beaujolais wine country including sublime vintages from Morgon, Julienas and Moulin a Vent.

To close a great week of Burgundy drinking and savoring, come celebrate with us at Le Colonial Restaurant & Lounge the final night of Burgundy Wine Week 2012. With our friends at St Germain, we will welcome you with a traditional mix of St Germain Elderflower liquor and the elegant sparkling Veuve Ambal. While DJs bring rhythm to the night, three prominent mixologists will put their contemporary spin on the Kir, the classic cocktail that hails from Burgundy.
